Hallelujah i'm a bum - (de)constructing folk
Songs guitarified and electrified by Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson and Moritz Cartheuser. Sigurdur is a Helsinki-based Icelandic guitar player who plays jazz and free improvised music. For the last ten years he has focused on making his own music and developing his style, both compositionally and instrumentally. He has studied jazz and improvisation as well as classical guitar to broaden his musical perspective in Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Finland. He graduated with a masters degree in Jazz performance from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in 2011. www.sigurdurrognvaldsson.com Guitarist and improviser Moritz Cartheuser bases his music on its potential to interact in terms of dialogue and monologue with the audience as well as with cooperators. His experimental approach to his own instruments and music itself allows him to play with a wide variety of sounds. Moritz Cartheuser studied at Jazz-Institut-Berlin with such great musicians as Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Hollenbeck.
