SOUND ROOM XXVI
12.9.2015
Rosen is the ever-evolving live platform for sonic and ephemeral works by artist Rachael Melanson. With a process that involves creating, interpreting, channeling (((sonic))) environments and non-linear narratives, Rosen’s performances are often described as diverse and cinematic, incorporating familiar musical motifs within unfamiliar terrain.
Rachael/rosen has performed in variety of spaces in Vancouver, Melbourne, New Zealand, UK and Berlin. She has recently released the preliminary sequence and tracks of a hypertext narrative, ‘Portals’, in collaboration with London-based electronic music collective Quantum Natives and its affiliated visual studio Werkflow. One of the tracks was featured on The Wire magazine’s ‘Below the Radar’ compilation earlier this year. rachaelmelanson.tumblr.com/rosen http://quantumnatives.com/portals/start.html Soft Jock is a project in search of an intermediary space between transflective ambience and the hedonistic drive of the dancefloor. With a combination of analog and digital audio tools, the performance echoes and deconstructs the experiences of collective euphoria found in early rave culture. K. Voveris is also a writer and DJ currently residing in Vancouver, Canada. He hosts a weekly radio show (innerspace FM) that has featured guest appearances by notable underground producers such as Khotin, Jayda Guy, and Neu Balance. As a promoter, he has recently booked and organized live performances for SFV Acid and Lnrdcroy. https://soundcloud.com/softjock Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/863912247026322/ |
