SOUND ROOM XLII
29.7.2016
Brian Crabtree creates objects, music, and objects that make music. In 2006 with Kelli Cain he founded monome, pioneering the grid-based performance instrument and exploring new composition systems. His work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Machine Project in Los Angeles. Time writing music and designing instruments is shared with an apple orchard and imaginary cabins. monome has created musical instruments for over a decade, used by musicians worldwide-- seen performed by Nine Inch Nails, Bjork, Four Tet, Deadmaus, Flying Lotus, James Holden, and Imogen Heap. Designs are open source, manufactured locally, and explored collaboratively through a global online community. http://monome.org/ Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/648900665258641/ |
