Six Years in the Third Space
30.10.2020 @ 18:00 - 20:00
This year we celebrate our 6th anniversary by releasing "Six Years in the Third Space"; an online publication around the complex theme of COLLABORATION. The publication is commissioned by Third Space reflecting on the past, the present, and the future of artistic projects/collectives such as Third Space. The publication, constellated together with our collaborators, features written, visual and auditory contributions. Together we explore questions on collaboration and collective work through concepts such as time/space, community, failure, lines / borders, theory / action, encounter / dis-encounter, and host / guest.
The event at Publics will be hybrid (online and physical). We will start with a half an hour online conversation (Zoom webinar accessible for everyone without registration) about the publication with some of our collaborators (present in the event and online). Then we will celebrate with a sound performance by Ana Gutieszca and refreshments.
Our collaborators for the publication are:
Yvonne Billimore I Adrián Balseca I Marten Esko (EKKM) I Antye Greie-Ripatti I Minna Hint & Killu Sukmit (Kraam Art Space) I Feminist Culture House I Ali Akbar Mehta (Museum of Impossible Forms) I Iida Nissinen, Tuisku Lehto, Laura Rämö & Oona Heinänen (QUERQ community) I Abdullah Qureshi and Danai Anagnostou I Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen I Vidha Saumya I Diana Soria Hernández I Milja-Maaria Terho & Juulia Terho I Marko Timlin

We highly recommend wearing masks and there will be masks and disinfecting liquid available for the event, and we hope that everyone will respect the distance and safety matters. We will closely follow the situation regarding the gathering restrictions by the municipality and will keep everyone informed regarding the change of plans for this event.
Accessibility Info: Publics is located on the ground floor on the corner of Sturenkatu and Kangasalantie in Vallila. The main entrance has a 4cm threshold and heavy door with 93cm opening leading to a small hallway space. The next door, leading into the main space, is lighter with similar dimensions. The (non-gendered) toilet being only 52cm width doesn’t meet accessibility standards. The nearest accessible toilet can be found at bar Morris (Mäkelänkatu 30) within 250m from Publics.
If you need assistance to enter the space please let us know in advance.
This has been possible with support of our collaborators, also with kind support from Publics and Taiteen Edistämiskeskus TAIKE.
