Continuo L a t i d o americano de Performance  2020

In a global panorama of general social, cultural, political crisis ... We can still recognise ourselves, resistant, re-existing-ourselves ...
Latin America is a disputed name. How to name ourselves, so that at once and at the same time name the potential that urges in our divers, dreamer and desiring bodies,  to grow up creating conjoint worlds to the earth and its cosmic forces, outside the established and naturalized dominance from the so-called "discovery" that has covered and gagged us with its logo-ego-phallus-centric rationalism, domain through which we learned to look at ourselves and lose ourselves in its replicas?

If the name (Latin America) emerges from a colonising matrix of struggles over material and cultural control of a wide territory, constituted with occidentalocentric, monotheistic, racist, patriarchal epistemicidal strategies that justified the appropriation of lands, human energy and cultural wealth, through genocidal, slavers, ecocides enterprises, that until today continue to oppress us as subjectivities of these territories, with renewed technologies subservient to the perverse global neoliberal necropolitical project, the name then, deserves exception, suspension or disruption.

This CONTINUO LATIDOAMERICANO* DE PERFORMANCE 2020, is constituted as a PLURAL COLLECTIVE CONSTRUCTION, of SYNCHRONIC AUTONOMIES, in the sense of continuity with the legacy of multiple memories. We intend to support forms of linkage and work in a horizontal, mutualistic, non-centralizing sense, or as a system of centers in movement and self-balance between their immediacy and manifestly sensitive extensions, to contribute to consolidating and multiplying these plots and outbreaks in a regional dialogue open to the transmutations of frontiers that the very nature of affections.

We are motivated by the desire to meet and embrace the gaze of our colleagues, to deepen the reflection of this discipline in our contexts and with the mission of giving more fluidity and power to ties already created. We summon ourselves to conspire to disengage, approach and become an attentive expanded organism, from the ethical-poetic functions that are familiar to us, with a commitment to living historicity and transformative resistance in circumstances of global environmental crisis, patriarchal violence and extreme neoliberal brutality.

This approach / encounter strengthens us and allows us to manage the difference in a structured way, and to implement containment strategies, early warnings to be able to activate mechanisms of care and healing, recognising the worsening of many of the current realities in the countries of the geopolitical spectrum that we encompasses. We have organised ourselves to participate in this broad territorial meeting of performance diversities to shape and activate this sister network of artists that has always been beating, nameless and sustained by ties of empathy, a deep vital purpose and a desire for mutual knowledge and recognition. A moving, mutant network, with traces of encounters, momentary and rhizomatic associations that now comes together with the will to articulate a comprehensive integration from and for performance artists, bodily and culturally situated in the symbolic-territorial spectrum that we rename as Latidoamérica, including its diasporas.

* Latidoamerica is a word game that changes the word Latino- into Latido- (heart beat)

To cross the ocean to migrate.
The history of the world is the history of migration. The history of the names that have been given to those human groups on the move: settlers, migrants, refugees, colonizers, expatriates, diaspora.
We crossed the ocean to live among the “conquerors.” In our program we have decided to talk about how and why we got here, and above all how we managed to stay, how and why we wanted to and were able to leave.
The fluidity of borders and territories has come to moist our identity. We inhabit hybrid and fluid spaces of enunciation. Identity and nationality are equivalent and opposite at all times.
The “Latin American identity” from within “Europe” is lived between expanded networks, found families and embodied otherness.

Necropolitics of abandoned bodies
Is it possible to heal despite continuous bleeding?...
We practice the exercise of imagining and (re) imagining some steps to close the cuts... From affectivities and care as opposed to the neoliberal necropolitical project in which dissident bodies: gender, sexuality, race, class and ethnicity, we also include as artists, that we live in abandonment and precariousness by the State and the consequences of the oppressive system.
Faced with invisibility and silence, we propose this space to emerge and expand our multiple, diverse, transversal and (in) disciplined bodies and subjectivities.
What lives matter, what bodies matter, and what don't? Who deserves to live and who must die? How do we respond to this necropolitic of abandoned bodies?
