60°9'38.65", 24°56’34.07” is a site specific installation that transforms Third Space gallery into an experiment in visual perception. A cloud of thousands of mirrors forms a disintegrating mass on the window of the gallery. The reflective form blurs the outer and inner environments into a play of light and space. The work is a continuation of formal experiments using custom developed software to create physical forms that augment how space is perceived.
Erik Parr is an artist originally from the U.S. and based in Helsinki, Finland and Reykjavik, Iceland. His work employs natural and artificial systems to create spatial, time-based installations. Currently, he is working on a series of projects that focuses on ways in which nature is remade by human forces.
