"The strategic and administered city lays down its thesis, and everywhere the clues and traces of its antitheses."
In this workshop, the Helsinki members of the International Peripatetic Sculptors Society (IPSS) made instant unsanctioned public sculpture in the back alleys and forgotten spaces of the city. Fusing the situationist tradition of dérive with Allan Kaprowʼs invocation to reclaim the art of everyday life the IPSS encourages transformation of the urban environment through small gestures of creativity. Action-based walks function as a participatory method of observation and investigation, as the peripateurs spontaneously intervened with the objects, operations and articulations of the city space.
Third Space was the meeting point for discussion and closing event for the workshop.
