What is an organisational model of a gallery?
A slot in time, walls, an invitation: come in, stand, receive, experience, reflect. The gallery is filled within a period of few days with objects, concepts, ideas, visitors or lack of them. The gallery is to be cleaned out within few days. What if this is only a fictional layer of a gallery, parasitic one? The one that is so light that it does not disturb other lives which are also there. These lives are oblivious to the objects, concepts and ideas. // The bugbed of Third Space. She is cast away on the shore like a giant whale. It is an unprecedented body, an alien or a stranger body, that lives both ways. She does not inhabit her body; she is also being lived by the body. She is soft. She multiplies by her unwanted, unchosen companions. Her body is stratifying. la layering. la layered body. layer died bodies, la lardies… Lardies are buging, budging, bugging. Only an air is a smooth space - equalising flux with no place for power. It is everywhere and nowhere. She is a regulatory device. She learns to navigate this smooth space and to act together with other regulatory devices: forms, designs, thoughts and concepts. That consensus, that agreement is monstrous. The endless possibility and pleasure are monstrous. She becomes monstrous; she lives her own monstrosity. Monstrosity lives her. None is righteous. None is innocent. In bugbed installation in Third Space gallery you will also find an associations to Seedbed, piece by Vito Acconci from 1972 and the attempts to reformulate a thought behind the production of body/object/space based intimacy in context of art institution. |
