Phantalassa refers to the evolutionary state, change or alteration of matter, of all organic status and therefore man.
About the artist:
Alain Ledezma is a mexican visual artist. His work has been shown in museums, galleries and art spaces in different countries such as Belarus, Cuba, Taiwan, Poland, Indonesia, Mexico, Italy, Germany and Spain. He was part of the famous Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin, Germany (2010-2012) and has produced projects as an Artist in Residence at Bamboo Curtain Studio & Soulangh Cultural Park (Taipei and Tainan, Taiwan); Tri Pusaka Cakti Arts Foundation (Bali, Indonesia); and La Ceiba Gráfica (Veracruz, Mexico).
In Mexico he has been recognized with the FONCA-CONACYT (National Fund for Culture and the Arts – National Council of Science and Technology) Artist in Residency Programme 2012; FONCA Young Artist Grant 2011-2012, and PECDA Young Artist Grant 2009-2010 & 2005-2006.
Alain Ledezma's work is part of the public collection of the museum CAM Casoria Contemporary Art Museum in Napoli, Italy.
As a photographer he has worked for the United Nations Development Programme in Dili, Timor Leste 2014.
He currently lives and works in Kathmandu, Nepal.
