Solo
This solo project of saxophone player and composer Johannes Gammelgaard is a trip through the inner world of the saxophone, driven by a curiosity to discover new territories of sound and noise. It is also an attempt at freeing the subconsciousness of inner and outer limitations and fearlessly accepting what comes to the surface. Johannes Gammelgaard is a Danish saxophone player and composer who continuously tries to expand and refine his musical expression by mixing Danish folk music, traditional jazz, atonal improvisation and more. At the moment, he lives in Stockholm where he studies at the Royal College of Music. He has formerly studied in Aarhus, Hamburg and Helsinki, which has led to many musical experiments and collaborations with musicians from different countries and musical backgrounds - from the duo-format to an 11-piece world music orchestra.
