Ur-imbalanced no wave post ambient manifestations of the mind. Improvised live. Informed in equal measures musically by early Tangerine Dream (improvised, free rock period) and the ambient of early Soft Machine, as well as various dissident minimalists and more abstract sound insurrectionists. Using analogue hardware: discordant synthesizer chops, riffs and tones, sequencers (trying to enforce their neurotic logic to the process), and the extra unpredictability factor provided by live patching of a modular synthesizer. Expect some truly unfunky cerebral caterwauling, or music like escaping gas...
Yöaie is: Mikael Jurmu (Multi instrumentalist based in Helsinki. Recently spends most of his time composing and playing in fusion, jazz- and psych rock bands: Soft Power, Octopus Syng, Barbara Vortex. Jurmu has played in many improvised events with musicians and artists of various backgrounds. Collaboration projects; featured in Yle Ääniversumi and released by Ektro records) & Mika Hyytiä (A composer and improviser from Helsinki, among other things. Has improvised with artists of various backgrounds as well as played in different collaboration projects: Bjorn Yesterday, Saint Vitutus, Spear Of Loneliness, etc. and on recordings of wide artistic variety.
